“…Letting Dead People Do the Work for You”

In a talk called “Flapping Birds and Space Telescopes,” Robert J. Lang discusses the evolution of origami at a February 2008 TED conference. If you like Lang’s work or are into origami, this video is definitely worth 16 minutes of your time. The title of my blog post will make more sense once you see the video.

(I like how Lang looks like an orchestra conductor on the above video still; it’s funny.)

During the speech, Lang talks about his TreeMaker program. You can read more about the program and download it on Lang’s website. On the site, you can also find the crease patterns for many of the creations Lang showed in the TED conference slideshow, which he (I assume ) made with the TreeMaker program.
