Fujimoto’s Hydrangea

2 September 2011

Shuzo Fujimoto created a really neat “hydrangeatessellation. For this model I used vellum paper, which looks awesome when back-lit. I added more layers to the model because they are simple to add and create a really cool effect when back-lit.

Find the diagram for Fujimoto’s Hydrangea here (PDF file).

See an instructional video by Sara Adams to make this tessellation here.

Hi! I just made the basic model of this from the PDF and video and it’s lovely but I want to make one with more levels. Do you have a link for this? Or can you tell me how to add more levels?

      Hi Malinda,
      Thanks for visiting my blog.

You can add more levels by creating a new hydrangea with the square that remains in the middle of the model.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
